2005 Iowa Community Cultural Grants Deadline March 1st

(DES MOINES, Iowa) – A new arts center in Davenport, the Tai Dam New Year Celebration in Des Moines, and a traveling puppet theatre show in West Liberty are just a few of the successful examples of projects funded last year by the Iowa Department of Cultural Affairs' Iowa Community Cultural grant program.
Communities and organizations across Iowa are again encouraged to apply for 2005 Iowa Community Cultural grants. Applications will be accepted through March 1, 2005 at 4:30 p.m. at the State Historical Building, 600 E. Locust, Des Moines, Iowa, 50319.
ICCG encourages growth and development in Iowa by supporting projects that provide direct and sustainable employment for Iowans while enhancing Iowa’s artistic, cultural and historical resources.
ICCG projects can include museum exhibits, historic restoration and archeology projects, folklife and other festivals, public art projects, ethnic heritage projects and performing arts events and companies. Cash-match awards range from $1,000 to $25,000. Applications are available at www.culturalaffairs.org.
