HRDP/Country School grant application deadline May 15
DES MOINES – The State Historical Society of Iowa will offer a free tutorial workshop this month for Iowans interested in applying for 2012 Historical Resource Development Program (HRDP) and Country School grants.
The workshop will be 1-3 p.m. March 27, 2012, in the Hoover State Office Building computer lab, 1305 E. Walnut in Des Moines. Participants will learn about the HRDP on-line application process.
To register, contact Kristen Vander Molen at Kristen.VanderMolen@iowa.gov or 515-281-4228. The workshop will be limited to 18 participants, but a morning session may be offered if necessary.
HRDP is funded by the Resource Enhancement and Protection Act (REAP), passed by the Iowa General Assembly in 1989.
Through REAP, local government units, various organizations and private individuals can receive funding for eligible projects. REAP/HRDP provides grants to preserve, conserve, interpret and educate the public about historical resources. Grant awards require organizations to supply matching funds.
The HRDP/Country School grant application deadline is May 15, 2012. Visit www.iowahistory.org/about/grants/hrdp for more information.
