History Through the Arts theater programs are open to both school groups and the public! Though most events scheduled during the day are reserved for school groups, the general public is invited to attend events and activities held in the evening unless otherwise stated below. Scholarships for transportation and admission are available to all schools.Schools may qualify to receive funding for attending arts-related events through the Iowa Arts Council's Big Yellow School Bus grant.
Teachers: Bring your students to our 2010-2011 season of History Through The Arts and let them learn through theater, interactive workshops and guided museum tours. All performances are held in the State Historical Building unless otherwise noted.
Tuition: $4/seat. Performances include interactive, curricular-based
workshops. Groups arrive at 9:45 a.m. and depart at 1:30 p.m.

February 1 - 4, 2011 - Sid the Snake, Des Moines Metro Opera
February 16 - 18, 2011 - Storytelling Camp
April 12 - 15, 2011 - Civil War, Annie Wittenmyer
